 Really Simple Syndication or RSS, sometimes called Rich Site Summary, is a method of delivering content changes to users without the need for them to visit a webpage. Many news organizations or websites with content that changes frequently offer RSS feeds. The user utilizes an RSS aggregator, an program, to subscribe to these feeds.The icon to the left is a common icon that is used on websites that offer an RSS Feed. There are a variety of aggregators available for viewing RSS feeds, such as Internet Explorer 9 which has an RSS reader built into it, Outlook 2010 also has a reader, you could also use Google Reader. |
