Forestburg Feb 7-9

It's time for our annual Forestburg Winter Camping Weekend.   Permission slips are due 2/4, NO EXCEPTIONS.     If your permission slip is not turned in by the end of the Tuesday meeting (2/4), you will not be able to attend this camp.    A permission slip is needed for both youth AND adults attending.   Transportation money should be turned in with the permission slip.   Food money for scouts should be turned in to your patrol leader on 2/4.     It is imperative that everything be turned in ON TIME.   Cabin assignments must be made.  Food will be purchased.

The permission slip is attached to this news item, along with some winter camping tips.

MENUs will be chosen tonight by the patrols.   Speak up and have a voice in your patrol.

Scouts who arrive unprepared for the cold on Friday WILL be sent home.    We will be in heated cabins, but may face sub zero wind chill temperatures while outside.    If you are prepared, you will be comfortable.   If you do NOT have a hat, gloves, coat, boots, etc, we will not allow you to camp in these temperatures.    See our "winter gear exchange" in the lobby of today's meeting if you need anything, and consider donating any winter gear that does not fit.

Watch the weather for "Monticello" on the news over the next two weeks.    That's right near Forestburg Scout Reservation.   Be sure you can dress for that weather!!
